If were for freedom of religion and separation of church and state why does the ground zero mosque imam?

Politicians are greedy and this guy Iman has an endless amount of money for his cause. While it is legal for them to put the mosque there, it is a case of insensitivity on their part. If you look up the meaning of Cordoba you will see that it is what muslims in history and throughout calls a place that they conquer or destroy and put a mosque in place of it, hence the "cordoba house". Don't people think calling it this means anything.
