I wasn't sure of the current state of the USA in2004. What convinced people to reelect Bush for a second term?

For the majority of us the alternative was someone who didn't have the military's support and didn't understand the reasons behind the war. I couldn't vote for President Bush (I voted for the most ethical and least socialist Democrat I could find, which ended up as a write-in vote), but I understand why others did.
