don't NEED them. don't try to impress them. be yourself. that is very attractive. i'm not looking for friends and people are very often drawn to me. if i TRY to make friends, people are less drawn to me. i'm funny too, but only sometimes, when i feel like it. it comes naturally. with time i've found that although funniness can create links, it can also be an escape from deeper connection. am working on that now. also be serious and sensitive sometimes. this is good not only for your present popularity but a life skill. it's taken me a long time and it's still a challenge to be serious and express myself whereas humour has long come easily.
