Why does my teacher act like this?

Our teacher told us that if we don't work hard in her cl then we're going to end up working at Wal Mart. She wrote on some kids test that he's going to end up becoming a logger, mechanic, or burger flipper. In another instance she was talking about how she used to teach adult ed. and that people were trying to hit on her and quoted "they didn't finish high school so they're obviously not good enough for me" Why does she ignorantly disrespect working cl jobs that are needed in this economy and society?
