I made homemade laundry detergent and hope someone can help me..?

i made it with fels naptha soap, borax and super washing powder. my first question is why is it so lumpy? is it supposed to be? and 2nd..i dont like how my clothes smell, is there a way to add a nice fresh scent to it? please help..thank you
